Jim D. Childress, III

  • Private Practice handling many types of cases
  • Internship with the Honorable Phillip A. Wallace (retired), Bedford Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court


Jim Childress is a native to the Lynchburg Area. He graduated from Brookville High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Lynchburg College.
After law school, Jim worked for years a Virginia prosecutor (commonly referred to as DA or Assistant DA in other states) and handled lots of complex cases.

numerous jury trials successfully to verdict. He has argued cases from speeding tickets to larcenies and serious felonies like rape, robbery, murder, and upper-level possession with intent to distribute narcotics. He also has successfully represented his clients in countless civil cases including: separation agreements, divorces, child custody, adoptions, contract disputes, personal injury, wills, deeds, power of attorneys, drafting contacts, convicted felon restoration of rights.
